Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about pawning, selling, shopping and visiting Legacy in Heidedal, Bloemfontein.

Pawn and sell

Bringing an item to Legacy

WhatsApp can save you a trip, but all final offers are confirmed after we inspect the item in store.

What items can I pawn?

We consider working, saleable goods such as tools, appliances, electronics, cellphones, furniture and jewellery. The item must belong to you and you must provide acceptable proof of ownership. The final decision and offer are made after an in-store assessment.

How long is a pawn agreement?

Our standard pawn period is 30 days, followed by a three-day grace period. The dates, charges and all other terms are confirmed in the written agreement you sign.

Which identification must I bring?

Bring an original South African identity document, passport or valid driver's licence. Additional information or proof of ownership may be requested for the item.

Can I send photos on WhatsApp before visiting?

Yes. Send clear photos, a short description and any model or serial details to 082 345 6711. We can give a preliminary indication, but the final offer is only made after testing and inspecting the item in store.

Does Legacy buy goods outright?

Yes. We buy selected working and saleable second-hand goods, including tools, furniture, appliances, electronics, cellphones, gold and silver. We do not buy firearms or items without proof of ownership.

Can you quote on a household or storage clear-out?

Yes. We consider larger groups of suitable goods from storage clear-outs, relocation, emigration or downsizing. Start by sending photos and a list on WhatsApp so that we can assess what may be suitable.

Shopping

Stock, payments and warranties

Second-hand stock changes quickly, so contact us if you want to confirm that an advertised item is still available.

Do you offer lay-by?

Lay-by is available on selected items. A deposit is required, followed by two further payments. Ask our staff to confirm the payment dates and terms for the item you want.

Which payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash, debit and credit cards, and EFT. Please confirm that an EFT reflects before collecting goods.

What warranty applies to second-hand electrical goods?

Second-hand electrical goods carry a three-month repair-or-replace warranty, subject to the conditions on your receipt. Keep your receipt and return the item for assessment if a fault develops.

Can new hardware be returned?

New hardware is accepted for return when it is faulty, subject to assessment and the applicable conditions. Keep the product, packaging and proof of purchase.

How often is Current Stock updated?

New arrivals are added as they are prepared for sale. Items marked sold remain visible briefly, and availability can change before the page is updated. Use the WhatsApp link on the item to confirm availability.
